I went back to sleep for a few more hours until my husband left at five. He had a maintenance window at the data center and needed to install new firewalls. I finally got up at 6 and did my yoga routine on the wii fit. This is the first game console that our family has ever owned. We've been early adopters in almost every other area, but we kept stalling on this one. I started using wii fit in April. I like being able to track my progress and it gives me little incentives along the way.
We went to church where we dedicated a new education wing. Digital cameras were clicking and I expect the pictures will be on the web site tomorrow. I came home and took a nap while the boys worked on their English and Science projects. At this point they are just using MS word, but both required a lot of research on the internet. Oldest daughter listened to the ipod while checking her e-mail and FB pages; youngest daughter did ALL the balance exercises on the wii fit. Then they all went to the pool. I skipped the pool to get some work done here.
My husband just stuck his head in to tell me that my nine year old is bringing home a friend to play "Rock Band II." So much for my quiet afternoon! I'm glad I got so much reading done while they were out of the house. I am also thankful that I took a nap. I suspect that this may be a late night. Today's technology use is fairly typical for a weekend. Things will definitely change after school gets out. We are going to set up the kid's user profiles so they can't log on until after 2pm. That will give everybody a chance to practice, swim, and get their chores done. I will not be subject to the same limits because I have this class but any time that I spend online in the mornings will be for school or volunteer work only. I am secretary for a local non-profit group and we use a sharepoint site to manage our calendar and files. That reminds me - I need to upload the minutes from our last meeting!
