Do I need bifocals?

I am having a hard time reading fonts smaller than 14 pt. online. When this happens with a book, I just take my glasses off and change the position of the book. I am legally blind without my glasses, but that is another story. I can reset the font size on some pages, but on the PDF's I am stuck with the format given. I'm calling the optometrist on Monday. This is an issue with reading online that I never anticipated. Sending plants on facebook is one thing, but all this reading is giving me a huge headache. I suppose my other option is to check with the public library about assistive technologies.
